Gymnasium and highschool of Skripero - Corfu
The Gymnasium and Lyceum of Skripero is a public secondary school, located in the Skripero village, 18km distance in the north of Corfu town. In 2012 the Gymnasium and the Lyceum were merged into a single administrative school unit under the same director. The teachers who work in the school have extensive experience of working with young children between the ages of 13 and 18. The School is open between 8.00 am and 13.40 pm. The school covers a relatively large geographic area of the island: apart from Skripero village, the (around 150) pupils of the school come from a number of villages at the north/north east part of the Corfu island (e.g., Liapades, Palaiokastristsa, Lakones, Doukades).
The school unit consists of two buildings, one for the Gymnasium and the other for the Lyceum. Inside the building of the Gymnasium, first are located the classrooms that host the pupils of the three Gymnasium classes (a classroom for French courses, an events hall, three classrooms for general courses and an office for the school teachers). In the second building there are two floors. On the ground floor there is a gym, a physics and chemistry laboratory, the library, a health facility room and two classrooms for general courses. On the first floor there is the director's office, the teachers' office and four more classrooms.
Enrico Fermi - Montesarchio (Italy)
The Institute of Higher Education "Enrico Fermi" is located in Montesarchio, the largest municipality in the province of Benevento, in the Campania region, in south-central Italy.
Montesarchio is a town of about 14,000 inhabitants, still the most vibrant center Caudina Valley, crossed by the state Appia, hub of many businesses and entrepreneurial. Montesarchio is a town three hundred meters above sea level, grouped around a hill dominated by the castle and the tower of medieval origin.
From school year 2010/2011, with the Reform of Secondary Schools, in our institution, are active the following fields of study: High School, High School of Applied Sciences, School of Human Sciences, School of Human Sciences Economic-Social, Language High.
The teaching is carried out from Monday to Saturday, in time morning, from 8:10 to 13:15. Our students have 13/18 aged. High school liceo course lasts 5 years. Students at the end of the courses make final exam in June.
The school has n. 855 students and no. 88 teachers including 73 with permanent contracts.
William Gladstone - Sofia (Bulgaria)
18 comprehensive school "William Gladstone" is created in 1906. It therefore bears the name of the Democratic and British Prime Minister William Gladstone, whose funding has contributed to the construction of the school. Since 1930 the school follows the traditions in the teaching of European languages: English, French and German. In 1992 we began to teach Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and Korean language since 2011. Today it is a municipal school specializing in intensive learning of modern languages, as well as humanitarian sciences, mathematics and natural sciences.
The school has 2400 students, divided into 90 classes in Primary School (Age range: 7 to 11 years old), Lower Secondary School (Age range: 12 to 14 years old) and Upper Secondary school level (Age range: 15 to 19 years old) 4.04 18 Comprehensive (Primary and Secondary) school "William Gladstone" provides intensive language learning of English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Arabic as first foreign language, and Spanish and Russian as second one in all levels of education. We are implementing CLIL methodology in English (History, Geography, Biology, Mats and Physics), in French (History, Geography, Biology, ICT), in German (Biology), in Chinese (History) and in Arab (History) for the respective foreign language classes.
18 comprehensive School "William Gladstone" works with students and staff from different ethnic groups: mainly Bulgarians, but also Jews, Armenians and Arab migrant. There are no communication problems, professional relations on their working together is based on the goodwill and tolerance, equal opportunities in education and training. Every year there are some children with specific needs admitted to the school on the recommendation of a Municipal Board. There is a good working environment provided for them.
The school has specialised in many extra school activities. Students may choose to participate in more than 20 groups of optional disciplines - music groups, sport teams (volleyball, basketball, football, swimming), theatre troupes in French and English, chess and Go, Scouts. Our "Japanese-Bulgarian Centre for Educational and Cultural Exchange" provides training on tea ceremony, origami, Ikebana.
IES Guia - Gran Canaria (Spain)
IES Guia is placed in the north west of Gran Canaria island, one of the seven islands that form part of The Canary Islands.
The municipality of Santa María de Guía, located in the North of the island of Gran Canaria is recognized by its agricultural nature, distinct landscapes green foothills and rocky and eroded coastlines and above all, a place where you can breathe history and with great value archaeological, architectural, artistic and ethnographic, cradle of great artists, and where they are kept and revive centuries-old traditions, such as the development of famous and special cheese flower, the traditional Fiesta de Las Marías and typical handicrafts.
It has an area of 42 square kilometres, and a population of 14.970 inhabitants (INE, 2016). Its population density is of 330 hab/km. The average altitude of the town is 180 meters above the sea level. The school is open from 8. a.m. until 14.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. It has an average of 70 teachers and 600 students.
